29. Nanaimo - Courtenay

The past day off was amazing: Linda, my host, cooked an amazing dinner with salmon - cooked on cedar wood!

The weather was amazing again and along nice coastlines and quiet forests I made good progress despite having some headwinds.

For a few kilometers I rode with another tourer, who was just doing the last kilometers on his way home from the airport after he cycled Vancouver - New York before. He was the first touring cyclist I met since I left southern Washington!

This evening the culinary travel continued when I was served (self-shot) elk. At the moment I am treated very nicely on this island but I'll be back out in the nature soon enough :)

Since I have still a few days left I am going to take another day off tomorrow (Monday) as well as on Wednesday.
