Today was already the first day that really challenged my psychological strength: Without interruption blew the wind in my face and in combination with the many, many hills on this part of the route it became a very exhausting day.

The road is leading along the coast as well as through the backland sometimes and the villages here are very tiny, which limits me on the possibilities to buy food. The shops are pretty small and pretty expensive around here and it is hard to plan for lunch and dinner. At least the traffic on the road is also pretty little.

Despite the fact that I would have had enough time to do 20 miles more, I decided to settle on a nice, quiet campground in Bodega Bay. Besides the very hard conditions it was also the will to not challenge my body to much in the first day that led to this decision.

Tomorrow will bring me further up to the north (what a surprise!). The exact goal is not defined yet and depends a lot on my legs and the conditions...
