Test tour: Fuorn Pass – Venice
It was years ago when I first had the idea of making a long bicycle tour. At that time I rode around 500 km a month by bicycle, however I never did more than 50 km a day and was far from making a long bicycle tour. That's the reason why I decided to make a smaller tour to find out whether I like it or not. So I stood on the Fuorn Pass with a bicycle packed with a lot of equipment in spring 2012. The goal was to reach Venice in Italy. It was the first time in my life to ride more than 50 km a day by bicycle – and I did it 5 days in a row. And I liked it :)
It was an amazing experience to make 450 km in 5 days, including the Rolle Pass with an ascent of 1700 m. I collected a lot of valuable experience on this tour, even if we had a lot of problems because we both didn't speak Italian.
